Re: Amateur Driving Course - Pukekohe
Unfortunately the course outlined below scheduled for 12th & 13th December has now been cancelled due to insufficient participants.
The next course is now booked to be held on 27th & 28th February 2016.
The amateur drivers courses are normally held twice a year but this year a third course has been secured and will be held over the weekend of 12th and 13th December. I received the following email in this regard from the organiser Cheree…

Hi Everybody,
Really great news as we have managed to secure a date before Christmas!
December 12-13 is the date booked, to be held at Franklin Park trotting Club, Station Road Pukekohe.
If you want to do this workshop and can commit to this date, please fill out the form attached and confirm with me as soon as possible. Remembering that it is a very busy time of the year for racing, and trainers will need to be informed asap to have horses available for us.
We also have a minimum required participant number to be able to go ahead with the course, so please tell as many people as you can, it might be a great early Xmas present for someone.
Kind Regards
Cheree Wigg

Amateur Driving Course - Pukekohe
The amateur driving course was held this weekend at Pukekohe and was an awesome experience.
There was more practice in learning how to properly gear up and un-gear horses and then the driving of dual and then single sulkies, which made for an interesting weekend. There were only 9 participants with one person who had travelled from as far away as Oamaru in order to attend.
The highlight was definitely this morning whilst starting in small groups from behind the mobile in a single sulky. That really gets the adrenalin pumping.
